Policies and Procedures
Snack
We will always have a "working snack" in the morning. Snack will be at a different time depending on which day it is. A "working snack" is a time in which students will eat their snack while continuing to work on class work. Students will not be able to call home for forgotten snacks. (Please see snack schedule on schedule page)
Birthday snacks will be shared at a set time in the morning or during lunch. Please e-mail the week prior as to which day your child will bring in a special treat. Any student with a summer birthday is welcome to celebrate their birthday during the school year.
Tests and Quizzes
Students will receive study guides for some of the tests given. We will always prepare in class for tests, but students are expected to prepare nightly for any upcoming test, once it has been announced. Signed tests are to be returned the next day.
Homework
Students are graded on the number of assignments that are handed in. If any assignment is late or missing, it is recorded and the student has only the following night to make it up. Students who are absent due to illness will be given an appropriate amount of time to complete missed work. Three missed assignments will result in an agreed consequence between the teacher and student.
School Hours
Students should arrive to school at 7:55am. If a student arrives after 8:05am, they will marked absent. Students who arrive late need to check in with the main office to receive a tardy slip.
Students who are absent will have a "sick folder" containing all missed work, assignments, and notices. Parents who wish to pick up any missed work may e-mail me so I can gather books and materials needed to complete assignments. These can be picked up in the main office.
