Writing We are currently working on realistic fiction. Students grow ideas from particulars of their own lives. Characters are developed while thinking about hopes, longings and struggles that make sense to them and that they have some experience with. These short stories will cover about two or three small moments. |
|
Technology and Media Students will learn to use the basic tools of technology as they write, collect ideas and data, create graphs, presentations, publications, and illustrations. Strategies for internet research will be taught as students become involved in research projects. Keyboarding skills will be presented and reinforced through tutorial software at classroom stations. Skill sessions may also take place in the computer labs. |
Spelling Our spelling program also includes vocabulary. The vocabulary books are used for both spelling and vocabulary. We also have spelling and vocabulary relating to the novels we read. Our plan for the future is to differentiate the spelling program by implementing the program designed by Andee Rolfe. Check the Homework page for an up to date list. |
