Homework:
Homework is assigned most Mondays through Fridays and is a review of learned skills. Homework is expected to be thoroughly completed and handed in on the assigned date.
- Homework includes:
- Reading Logs- students are required to read 20 minutes every night. (Monday through Thursday) Parents or gaurdians can can sign off on their child's reading by signing off on the reading log form
- Spelling Homework (To be completed in Spelling notebook)
- Monday: spell each mis-spelled word three times
- Tuesday: use the first ten words in a sentence
- Wednesday: use the last ten words in a sentence
- Thursday: ABC order (put spelling words in alphabetical order) and study for test
- Reading Comprehension- students will also sometimes recieve a practice reading comprehension sheet. They will be required to read and answer multiple choice questions.
Tests:
Students will usually be given a week's notice of upcoming tests. In some cases, flashcards and study guides will be passed out.
