| This year, third grade students are beginning their study of Spanish, while fourth and fifth grade students will continue to explore the Spanish language. When students attend Cavallini Middle School, they may choose, at that time, to study either French or Spanish.
Students will have many opportunities to develop and expand their abilities in World Language. These will include: conversations, games, songs, paired and group activities, presentations, and adaptations of familiar literature and folk tales. Students will also study cultural selections and appropriate grammar units. |

Fifth Grade News
Fifth grade Spanish students are just about finished creating their posterboard projects on Puerto Rico. They also are continuing to take turns taping their dialogues set in Puerto Rico. Right after the spring break, fifth graders will be quizzed on the verb SER(to be). Students have learned the forms of the verb, and how to use the correct forms in sentences. Look for a study guide right before the break. Our next grammatical area of study will be an introduction to the forms of regular -AR verbs and interrogative words in Spanish. We will also be reading selected stories in Spanish after the break. |
