We are reflecting on what we have learned this year in reading:

  • review reading strategies
  • review making connections
  • review favorite books of the year
  • review how to ask questions and have good book talks

Then we are making goals for future reading:

  • go to the library or book store to find books
  • read before bed
  • read when you wake up
  • read when you have nothing else to do
  • challenge yourself with a harder book
  • read on vacation
  • start or join a reading club
  • Check your child's folder every night for notes and homework.
  • Remember to read with your child each night and fill in the star paper!
  • Label all of your child's clothing
  • The school year is coming to a close - check the Lost and Found for missing items.
  • June 5th - Field Trip : Bronx Zoo please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather that day
  • June 6th - Butterfly program with Mr. Mikula
  • June 9th - Germany presentation
  • June 12th - Field Day
  • June 17th - Croatia presentation
  • End of year celebration (students only)
  • June 20th - Last Day for Students 12:20 dismissal
  • ask your child questions as he/she reads their story at night
  • practice addition/subtraction flash cards (fact triangles)
  • practice counting forward and backward from any number
  • practice counting money and giving change
  • review papers/workbooks as they come home for the summer
  • have your child keep a journal over the summer
