Things to do at home
  • As we are beginning to read longer and harder books, our focus this month will be on strenghtening comprehension skills.
  • We will be:
    • making making images as we read
    • inferring from the text
    • making connections
    • having book talks
    • reviewing character actions, settings, and tone of stories.
  • Check your child's folder every night for notes and homework.
  • Remember to read with your child each night and fill in the star paper!
  • Label all of your child's clothing
  • hand in your Zoo permission slips and money
  • Passport projects due May 14th
  • May 5th - Author visit- Emma Jackson
  • May 6th - Ireland presentation by Mrs. Miesner
  • May 14th- Passport to Learning projects due
  • May 16th - Passport to Learning Program
  • May 21st - Israel presentation by Mr. and Mrs. Sperling
  • May 23rd - 26th - Memorial Day - school closed (Friday and Monday)
  • May 29th - Australia presentation by Mr. and Mrs. Strauss
  • ask your child questions as he/she reads their story at night
  • practice addition/subtraction flash cards (fact triangles)
