Things to do at home
  • Begin Reader's Use Strategies to Figure Out Words unit
  • Some strategies are:
    • look at cover and title
    • take picture walk
    • point under the words
    • look at pictures
    • stretch out the beginning sounds of words
    • look for chunks in words
    • ask "does this make sense?"
    • reread for sense
  • Check your child's folder every night for notes and homework.
  • Remember to read with your child each night and fill in the reading log.

  • Oct. 8th - Fire truck Visit
  • Oct. 10th - Visit the Fire House at night
  • Oct. 30th -Special Project - pumpkin math

  • Practice spelling and saying phonic families (ex. cat, hat, mat, etc.)
