Welcome to First Grade!

My name is Jill Gijanto and I am so excited to be spending this exciting year with you. This year we will be getting to know ourselves and each other as readers, writers, explorers, and world travellers.

As a parent, you will have many opportunities to visit our classroom. When you visit our room, you will notice that as first graders we have a lot of responsibilities. We are responsible for being good neighbors and friends as well as sharing our thoughts and ideas with our classmates. One very important part of this year is that we learn how to work as individuals as well as with a group. We also understand that each one of us is unique and we teach and help eachother!
