ext:2105 Arrival School begins at 8:05am. The doors open at 7:55am. If your child arrives earlier tell him/her to line up against the wall by the classroom to let traffic go by. Children may not enter the classroom until it has been opened. Absentees Please call Mrs. Donadio at ext 6376 in the Attendance office if your child will be absent due to illness. Please notify the school in advance if your child will be absent due to vacation. If you would to request homework please contact the office. Tardiness The school day begins at 7:55am. Children may enter at that time, unpack and get ready to start the day. Children will be marked tardy if they arrive after 8:05am. If your child arrives after 8:05am, please have him/her go directly to the Attendance office for a late pass. Medications All medications
must be given to the nurse if taken during school
hours. Snack and
Lunch Snack is served in our room at approximately 10:00am. Please send a healthy snack to school with your child everyday. Lunch is at 12:20pm in the cafeteria and weather permitting, the children then go outside for recess until 1:00pm. Milk is served during lunch. If you do not choose to purchase milk, you should send them with a drink for snack and for lunch. Please do not send anything in a glass container. Labeling Please label
clothing, backpacks, lunch boxes and personal items is very
helpful. The lost and found box is located outside of the
main office close to the front doors. Backpacks and
Folders It is important to establish with your child a routine from the start of the school year. Be sure to check your child's folder every day for newsletter and notices from school. Please make it apart of your children's routine to pack and unpack their own backpack (with your help). Homework Your child will be getting homework Monday through Thursday. The homework is important because it reinforces concepts taught in class. Homework also encourages your child to be responsible. Homework is due the following morning unless indicated otherwise. Birthdays School Parties: On or near your child's birthday, you may send in a snack for the class. You may drop off the treats in the morning. Please drop me a note at least one day before you would like to do this telling me exactly what will be provided. Please bring in napkins and keep the treats healthy. Summer Birthdays:
Children who have a summer birthday will have the
opportunity to celebrate their birthday in school during the
month of June. I will send home a schedule around the end of
May. Home Parties:
Invitations for home parties should NOT be distributed in
school unless the entire class has been invited. Mystery
Reader Mystery Reader is
an opportunity for you to make a surprise visit to your
child's class. Sign-up sheets will be available at
Curriculum Night. Changes In
Transportation Each child will
have a regular dismissal schedule. If for any reason this
schedule changes, I must receive a written note from you. Do
not rely on your child to tell this information, because
children often become confused and relay messages
incorrectly. If no written note is received, your child will
be sent home by his/her usual method of
transportion. Scholastic
Book Order Your child will
be bringing home a book order form about once a month. If
you wish to order, simply fill out the form and return it to
school with your payment by CHECK. Please do not send CASH!
Of course, you are never under any obligation to
order. Communication Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, report cards and parent-teacher conferences. At anytime please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
